Is an electronically signed service agreement enforceable in the United States?
Yes, in every state. The ESIGN Act (15 U.S.C. §7001) gives an electronic signature the same legal effect as a handwritten one, and UETA — adopted by 49 states, with New York using its own equivalent statute, ESRA — reinforces that at the state level, as long as the signer's identity and the document's integrity can be established.
